let them eat cake!

We ate cake last night. It was pretty good, except because I didn't make the icing Monday night (the same night i baked the cake), the cake was a little dry. But, it was still pretty good, and an excellent second attempt in baking from scratch, I think. It looked wonderful, and if that counts for anything, which, I say it does (because I am MUCH more apt to eat something that looks beautiful than some sort of unappealing slop), then better the more. So Wesley and I quieted down last night to a meal he cooked (which, was yummy, so i have to give him props) and dessert in front of a movie. I love our movie nights. I never seem to tire of them. We saw Fracture. It came out yesterday. It was intriguing. Not extremely realistic, although I'm sure it's possible. I won't say what b/c that would spoil the suprize.

Knox woke this morning in a very happy mood. I love it when he wakes up smiling. I was able to get ready for the day before he woke: those are my favorite days. I will add the cake pictures after lunch.

I am knitting a teddy bear. Really, I am calling it a Claire bear. I am sooooo close to finishing it. The only thing stopping me from finishing it yesterday was that I ran out of yarn. With one row left on the last ear! Can you believe it? Anyway, it takes less than an actual ball of yarn to make this sweet little bear, so it'll still be good to get the yarn, so i can make more bears. They will make good gifts to children, I think. We shall see.

ah, to have my cake and eat it too...

This year has gone way too fast. Seriously, it seems like last month I was having Knox, and now, he's trying to walk!

I feel as if I don't follow through with commitments well, and I don't like that about myself. I am going to try to do better about that. I am helping plan a shower for my good friend Ashley; She is getting married very soon. We (my friend Amy and I) are planning the menu and it sounds sooooo good! I'm excited about the food already! I tried to make a chocolate layer cake from scratch yesterday, but I haven't had time to make the icing yet, so there it sits in the fridge waiting on me. See the beginning of this paragraph.
