Painting
I was in one of my friend's wedding this weekend. She had to be the most beautiful bride yet. Seriously. Amazing wedding. It was so much fun, and such a godly couple. Wow. But afterwards, I was left with this thought of "wow, I want to move back to Jackson." I know, I know, most people don't think of Jackson and think, "Hmm, now THAT's a place I want to be." But I do. I don't want to be there forever by any means, but I want us to finish school there. I don't feel finished with it yet. I am more and more feeling that this town is getting cramped, like an old shoe. I think it has to do with so much history here. I'm so ready for a fresh coat of paint in my life. Wesley and I are thinking of "repainting" areas, if you will allow me to continue the metaphor.
I am through with cokes.
I am banishing Coke and Coke products from my life as of now. I think it's been giving me a headache. I just get where I feel stiff and achy and a large headache that I believe can be traced back to Diet Coke. Who knows what that junk does to you!? I say forget it. I'm through with you forever.
By the way, the last post was the ingredients to Diet Coke.
Can anyone guess what I'm drinking???
Carbonated water, Caramel color, aspartame, phosphoric acid, potassium benzoate (to protect taste...of course...), natural flavors, citric acid, caffine
Yeah, me, either
Yeah, me, either
So, about the aforementioned donuts,
I got the donuts that afternoon. They were as hard as bricks. No, really, they were super hard and at least two days old. Yuck. But, today, I won donuts on the radio! They were delicious. I called in (you were supposed to be caller #3) and was number 1. Poo. Then I thought, God, PLEASE let me win these donuts. I'm hungry! And then I was caller number 3! I'm not a name-it-and-claim-it person by ANY means, so don't think i'm saying that. But, it was neat that God provided the donuts. He's good in the simple things that seem insignificant (even though he'd still be good if i didn't win the donuts, too.)
Well, the concert was wonderful. Those Andys and a Ben. They can play. We had a good visit with my sister. I always feel that I don't get to see her enough. She came in town last night, and we went walking this morning before work. It was muggy outside, so I was drenched in sweat when we got back. Yuck. I wasn't planning on this, so I took a tad longer to get ready than I expected.
Yesterday was our 2 year anniversary. It was nice. Wesley planned a date and suprized me with it. I thought we were going to the grocery store, but we went to dinner instead. We both got pork tenderloin.Yum! I should make that more often, because, man it was good!! While Knox was being babysat by his grandparents, he apparently had troubles using the...well, diaper. Poor baby. We're starting a prune regiment today.
Wesley should be over any minute now for lunch, and when he does, I shall go prepare lunch for us both. Today we are having grilled chicken salad with jello for dessert. Mmm.

visions of donuts danced in her head
Tonight Wesley and I are going to an Andrew Peterson/Andy Gullahorn concert. We are excited! It seems like it has been 2 months since we have had a date night, though I know it's probably only been a week (or less). Time seems to go by slower when he's away. Tomorrow I have a highlight appointment, and I am extremely ready for it. It has been four months since I have last done ANYTHING to my hair, and even then, it wasn't much. It's been a year since I have gotten highlights. I am going to try to keep it up again. I quit last time because its an expensive habit. But this time, money's no object! :) haha, just kidding. I'll just try to wait longer in between appointments. This morning Knox had pictures taken to be in the football program at my old high school. He was amazingly cooperative and happy for it to coinside with naptime. He was smiling in most of them, and when I get the program, I'll post the picture.
I forgot that earlier in the week I bought some donuts from a coworker's son for a fundraiser at school. Today we get said donuts! What a nice suprize!!! Wesley doesn't know, so he should be excited. We are staying with my sister and brother-in-law this weekend, so we'll probably bring the donuts over there for breakfast...or snack... We like donuts. That's why we never buy them.
This time two years ago I was getting ready to pack for Mexico. And this year we're going to Louisiana. It'll be fun, but man, I wish we could honeymoon every year. :)

July 26
Today i am twenty-three, and things are looking up. Knox slept most of the night!! Hooray!! (He's been in this kick lately where he doesn't want to sleep through the night anymore. We're fixing that.) Wesley called and sang me happy birthday! :) It was good to hear from him. This morning at work, a co-worker brought me a piece of cake. It is good, too. Yellow with chocolate icing and chocolate chip filling. Mmm. I have plans to eat lunch at the Castle with Mom and dinner at South China with Dad. Last night I cooked a seafood lasagna that Wesley has been after me to cook. I think we'll eat it tomorrow and freeze half of it. It is really large. It looks good! I took pictures of it, and I'll try to remember to post them later. It has shrimp, crab, and scallops. Yum! I've never tried to make lasagna from scratch before. I have a new appreciation for those that do.

I had forgotten how good of a movie Simon Birch is until Wesley bought it for us a few nights ago. I was even sorta dreading watching it, though i don't now know why. What a kid. I'm not going to go as far as to say we should all be a little more like him, but what a story.
On a lighter note, its hot today. I mean, really hot. I wish I had a pool and nothing to do but swim and drink ice water today. Knox ate carrots for breakfast and lunch today. No allergy there. A.m. was mixed with apple juice, and p.m. was mixed with grape. It sounds awful, but he liked it.
My sister sent me an email with pictures of all kinds of vegetable things in it. I know this sounds weird. It is. I hate forwards, but this is funny. I thought so, anyway. I'll post a few of them.

I know it is probably extremely late in the game, but we started Knox on baby food last week. It is difficult to keep up what he gets at each feeding since I am at work during the day, but I think I'll start giving the sitters the actual food each morning for the rest of the day. (along with the times to feed him.) I have been reading about different recipies for making your own baby food. It seems so easy. I have made peas and sweet potatos for him already. I think we'll do bananas and mangos maybe next. I also read that if you make your own baby foods, you can freeze them in ice cube trays and they store well. It makes since to me. And it seems like it'd be pretty good portions already made for you. I think that might help when giving it to the sitters. Here's a couple links I like about making babyfood: http://wholesomebabyfood.com

happy birthday wes
Today is Wesley's birthday. He's getting 2 more days of recording his vocals. We are out at his parents to celebrate. Really we like to celebrate all week by doing little special things each day leading up to it. Its my birthday week, too. It's hard to believe that in only 3 months or so Knox will be a year already. He's no longer a baby, but now a toddler! We started him on food this week. Peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, and peaches. He's a good eater, so far. I think Wes will be gone on my actual birthday, but that's fine. :) We'll celebrate it when he gets back! :) Hopefully with more sound clips! :) I thought I'd post some pictures of little man.

Today
Ah, work.
Knox is sleeping soundly at the babysitters' house. He shall soon wake, and I will go and feed him. I enjoy my little breaks to go visit him. I am always a bit sad when I have to leave him. I do not understand this system that I'm in that I have to let other people, even if they are people I trust, raise my child for me. It breaks my heart.
Wesley is planning to go back to Nashville to record some more. I'm glad that he's able to make his record finally.

Last night we cooked Linguini Alfredo with crabmeat. It was wonderful! Except, right afterwards it tore up my stomach. Stupid lactose intolerancy. Anyway, we watched Big Brother. I know it's silly, but I'm such a fan. I don't think I could leave my family for 6 weeks or so like that, though!

...Hmmm...
Oh, how i'm not very good at this. I think I dabble too much in too much and don't stick to enough worth sticking to. Anyway, that's one way of saying, I don't know if i'll stick with this long, but i'm shooting for it for now. I've tried myspace, but i'm not too fond of it. Here's attempt #1.
